Private Events at the Clay Studio of Missoula

Interested in touring the facility, having a birthday party with us, or having a workshop for just you and your friends? Book a private event today!

Facility Tours

Tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks ahead of time. Available times will vary depending on staff availability.

All basic tours are free! Tours last approximately 30 minutes and can be tailored to fit any age group or area of interest. Tours can be general and go over all aspects of the studio briefly, or be more specific with in-depth information about clay, firing, studio history, and/or resident and studio artists.

Add a wheel demo- $15 (A wheel demonstration adds approximately 30 minutes to the tour and must be arranged ahead of time.) Tour participants will observe the demo, but not work on the potter's wheel themselves.

You can schedule a take-home raw clay project with your tour, great especially for kids. This adds 30 minutes to the tour. Price is $2 per participant. Sculptures are temporary, raw clay that is NOT fired.

Raw Clay Project Options:

1. Raw Clay Bird Feeders - Decorate a small sculpture with bird seed to nurture the local bird species in your back yard!

2. Sprouting Sculptures - Decorate a sculpture with a no-till seed mix. Take them home and nurture them until they sprout, and then plant them to become a part of your backyard ecosystem!

Call the office at (406)543-0509, or email to schedule!

Private Lessons

Depending on instructor availability, we are able to offer pre-scheduled private lessons to Clay Studio members and students. Lesson scheduling is highly variable depending on resident availability. We recommend them as supplementary education to our class options, not a standalone option.
