Interested in learning how to apply imagery or designs on clay? In this class, students will learn about different surface decorations techniques utilizing slips and underglazes. Techniques covered will include slip transfers with newsprint for imagery, along with the Mishima process to inlay linework in clay. Students will make basic forms, such as tiles, hump mold plates and cylinders to create clay “canvases” for their design work. More advanced students are welcome to create hand built or thrown forms of their choosing.
