Private Event Terms and Conditions
Booking a private event with the Clay Studio of Missoula (CSoM)
requires agreement to the following terms:
-
A $50 deposit is due at the time of booking to reserve the chosen availability on the calendar. This calendar is shared with public programming and events, and the reservation can be booked over by any event if the deposit is not paid. Failure to pay the deposit within one week of booking will result in cancellation of the event, requiring rescheduling at a later date.
-
The full fee for the workshop is due one week before the event. If payment is not complete by this time, the event will be cancelled and deposit forfeit.
-
All attendees must agree to the CSoM General Liability release. Digital general liability release can be read and signed HERE if preferred.
-
Family-Style and Children's sessions are optional, but are not standard. Please do not suddenly pivot to having children at your event without alerting the studio, as the instructor needs to be briefed, and not all instructors are willing to work with children. If there will be children at your event, you must let us know at booking, or no less than one week ahead of the event, otherwise preparations will be made with adults in mind.
-
Family-style sessions are handbuilding only.
-
Children under 12 are not allowed on the potter's wheel at the Clay Studio of Missoula, and are not permitted to sit-in at pottery wheel based sessions.
-
All group members are expected to participate in the activity provided.
-
-
The Clay Studio of Missoula is not responsible for anything other than rudimentary trimming of pots created (rasping/sponging), and is not responsible for refinement or repairs of any handbuilt project.
-
Kiln technicians can refuse to fire work from private events if it is deemed unsafe to do so.
-
The Clay Studio is not responsible for works that crack or break in any way during the drying or firing processes, or for surface defects in glazes. These are inherent risks of the process.
-
Cancellations one full week in advance or more may reschedule or be refunded, minus a $10 processing fee.
-
Cancellations made less than one week (5 weekdays or less) before a scheduled session cannot be refunded. No-shows cannot be refunded. Rescheduling can still occur for a $15 fee up to 3 days prior to the event.
-
If the Clay Studio of Missoula is forced to cancel the reservation due to unforeseen circumstances on our behalf, a full refund will be issued.
-
A head count for the event should be provided at least 3 days prior to inform preparations.
-
Private event participants must follow the studio code of conduct and clean-up policy as they are asked by the lead teaching artist. Failure to do so will result in a ban from future booking.
-
Please note that the CSoM office is closed on weekends, so any requests related to private events made on weekends cannot be acknowledged and processed until the following business day.
-
Food and drink policy
-
Eating food while working in clay is allowed, but not encouraged, especially when the wheels are being used.
-
The booking party must provide their own food and drink, preferably in covered containers, and their own plates, cups, etc. We also recommend bringing a table cover. CSoM cannot provide cups, plates, silverware, etc.
-
Food and beverages are the complete responsibility of the booking party, and must be fully cleaned from the Annex building at the end of the session. Any food-based trash must be taken to the dumpster near the main building, not thrown away in the Annex trash.
-
Your event cannot be extended to accommodate eating time without incurring the fee for an extra hour.
