The Clay Studio of Missoula has a small staff, but a big mission! As a nonprofit we are grateful for every helping hand who pitches in. The Missoula clay community is growing all the time, and helping our studio can keep it a functioning haven for the artists and students we support with our programs and services.
Our caring community and volunteers are the fire at the heart of the Clay Studio of Missoula!

The Clay Studio depends on members of our community: students, board members, renting artists, resident artists, and more to give us a hand to keep things running smoothly. There's lots of opportunities to help!
Here are some common tasks we need extra help with:

Preparing materials and activities for outreach events

Outreach tabling and activities outside the studio like Out to Lunch and Roots Fest

First-Friday studio cleanup help

Wrapping pottery during the Holiday Sale

Volunteering during our fundraisers like Potsketch and High Tea

Weeding the garden in the spring and summer

Team FIRE Rewards
Volunteers are a big part of the glowing FIRE that keeps the Clay Studio of Missoula running! For volunteers who help with events and studio tasks, you can earn incentives to make helping out even more worthwhile!
Logging for rewards is not mandatory by any means. We also massively appreciate the kind folks who volunteer just to provide needed help.
Log Your Hours to Claim Incentives
Team FIRE rewards are based on logged volunteer hours! Whether you help at the outreach booth during events, or request a volunteer task from the office staff, it can count toward rewards! The incentive program is run on a yearly cycle, beginning in January.
Once you are confirmed to have volunteered the hours you logged, you can claim incentives for your service!

2 Hours - Holo Sticker
Show off your volunteer status with pride with this cool holographic vinyl sticker!
Printed with Sticker Ninja, these awesome stickers look great on water bottles, electronics, bike frames, and more!
5 Hours - One-Day Session Coupon
Join in on some clay education or a one-day project just for some creative fun! These special coupons are granted for 50% off one of our standard one-day sessions for an individual, such as a Beginning Pottery One-Day or a Handbuilding Day.
Alternatively, you can get a coupon for 25% off a couple/pair event like Pottery Date Night.
10 Hours - T-Shirt or Apron
Come down to the studio and pick out one of our custom t-shirts or aprons to wear with style! There's cool different artist designs every other year.
All volunteers are invited
to our social events typically reserved for members! There's a special appreciation BBQ for Volunteers and Members in the Summer, a soup potluck in the winter, and other sporadic socials throughout!
Volunteer Email List
Currently, we contact volunteers through an email list, in addition to putting opportunities on VolunteerMissoula. You can join the email list by following the link and entering your full name and email address, so you'll be contacted with new opportunities.
