Clay Studio of Missoula Summer Camps are an educational art experience kids will have a blast in! These week-long camps explore different themes through the creation of clay projects! Led by a professional teaching artist in our community, kids will learn the basics at a pace set for their age group. Beginners welcome at each level.

The Clay Studio will provide a small snack for students in camp. We ask parents to please send their child with a water bottle to stay hydrated.

In Teen Throwing, Students 12 and up can learn how to use the electric potter’s wheel. Throwing takes practice, practice, practice! Great for beginners or students who are just starting out. This tricky traditional method excites kids and is a unique experience to try!

By Clay Studio of Missoula Policy, this camp is limited to students age 12 and up. Full-size pottery wheels are very challenging to use and clean properly, and historically have been inaccessible to students at younger growth milestones. We want to give kids the best chance to succeed at this challenging method so they don't give up on developing this unique set of skills, so we do not make exceptions to this rule.

Scholarships are available for students in financial need! Email education coordinator Kelly Seitz at to get an application.

To ensure instructors have time to safely fire works made in this camp, pieces will be ready for pick up by JULY 22. On this date, parents may begin picking up their child’s work during our public open hours. Works will be available only until the end of December, at which point they must be discarded due to limited space.

This camp is limited to a total of 9 students.

Our mask requirements align with current CDC guidance according to Missoula’s risk level. Currently, masks are strongly recommended, but not required.
