  • By purchasing this kit, I agree that I will not hold the Clay Studio of Missoula liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss of insurance. I agree to release and hold the Clay Studio of Missoula from all liability incurred as a result of mine and my cohort's participation with the Friends & Family Clay Kit.

The Clay Studio of Missoula is not responsible for any pieces which fall apart, crack, or rupture in making, firing, or transit.

Be sure to read Clay Safety at Home, Getting Started, and Glazing Guide in order to ensure your work can be created and fired safely.

  • Labeling Your Work

Please be sure your name, initials, or a special symbol is clearly written on your pieces you are leaving to be fired.  Please label your box with the same name(s) or initials or symbol to simplify reboxing. To turn in your work for firing, pack what you make inside your provided clay box, and turn in to the Clay Studio with your filled out Firing Pass from the back of the clay kit book.

    Fragile Works of Art

Please keep in mind, the type of clay included in this kit does not hold up well to being sculpted in tiny, delicate forms (in the studio, we use the "kowabunga rule" - make objects no thinner than your pinkie, no thicker than the base of your thumb). When in bone-dry state, these break at a touch and are not suited to be handled for firing. The studio is not liable for any breakage of works. It is highly recommended to deliver works for firing when they are still a bit wet, in a leather-hard state. Clay travels much better in this state. Plastic shopping bags also make excellent padding to protect pieces in transit.

NOTE: The Firing Pass is ONLY available in your physical copy of the Family Clay Kit Book. If you lose it, you must show proof of purchase in order to secure another one. Turned in work must have a firing pass in order to be fired.
